About Donna Maria CampsDonna Maria is originally from Trinidad, West Indies. In the ancient South American culture, she is known as an ‘O’piai’, a Traditional Medicine and Wisdom Holder. She has called the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, Canada home for 27 years of her life. Donna Maria is a Sun Dancer and Ceremonial Leader, and has been leading Sweat Lodges, Vision Quests and other traditional, holistic, healing ceremonies for many years.
She believes that we can create a more harmonious reality for ourselves by raising our operational level of consciousness. Doing this assists in the Great Awakening to another way of being on the planet. |
Work Experience |
Donna Maria worked within the Canadian Federal Prison System as a Spiritual Advisor from 2008 to 2012, working directly with the Canadian Indigenous Male prison population. She led ceremonies for the inmates; represented inmates at their Canadian National Parole Board Hearings; was on the Federal Board to select Correctional Services Canada Indigenous Liaison Officers; was part of the Circle of Elders advising and working with the Federal Aboriginal Department of Correctional Services of Canada.
She also worked on two levels of Canadian Federal Correctional Programs. The first level was creating programs and writing holistic evaluations for parole officers, criminal psychologists and the Parole Board on a select group of Aboriginal Inmates who volunteered to participate in a Federal Prison Aboriginal Initiative known as Pathways. On the second level she was trained by and worked with the Canadian Federal Prison Programs Department, assisting in the delivery of Federally created Drug and Violence programs. At the end of her internal work with Correctional Services Canada, Donna Maria continued to work in collaboration with CSC offering voluntary community support and rehabilitation as well as representing the inmates she worked with at their Federal Parole Board Hearings. |
Training |
Donna Maria is a practicing, clinical hypnotherapist (C.Ht.), who worked extensively within a drug and dependency rehabilitation center in Quebec, Canada. She also held a private home practice there, serving those who exhausted the medical system and found no medical answers to their disease, illness and /or their mental/emotional situation. Donna Maria often works with individuals suffering from various forms of post traumatic stress disorder, as well as those who have had unexplained life experiences.
She is also a holistic herbalist who received her traditional knowledge from elders of North, Central & South America. She has been practicing holistic healing and energy adjustments for over twenty years. She is mother to four grown children, and is currently situated in the Caribbean. |
