From the Arawak and Carib Indigenous lines of descent, our ancient ancestral homeland is the South American headwaters of the Orinoco river, the northern coasts, rain forests and the plains of Guyana, Venezuela, the Amazon region of Northern Brazil and the Andean Quechua region. Our ancestors brought within them the core of that South American forest and mountain culture. It tenaciously clung to them in the intonation of their Indigenous dialects, the agricultural tradition of yuca cultivation and the manufacture of Cassava bread, the style of their pottery, and a very powerful and effective holistic healing tradition.
Unlike the modern use of medicines with an attitude of addictive dependence, the ancient indigenous line of Holistic Healers of South America use medicines derived from herbs in a totally different way. First of all, plants are seen as intelligent living spirits holding certain vibrational frequencies. Illness and dis-ease is seen as being out of harmony with basic life supporting frequencies, like an un-tuned guitar.
The Holistic Healer searches for the cause of the imbalance, which could be emotional, mental, spiritual or physical. She/He may then prescribe a herb, or herbal combination, to restore harmony within the whole being of the body-mind-soul complex. Herbal treatment can be in the form of baths, teas, oils, fumigations and amulets, the herb does not always need to be ingested and the use is usually for a definite period of time. The Holistic Healer does not seek to create an external dependence within the individual, but seeks to restore internal sovereignty that manifests as physical health and general harmony.
Without a holistic consultation as to the cause or causes of the dis-ease, it is impossible to prescribe the correct herbs for restoration of health.
The aim of the Holistic Healer is to trigger the body-mind-soul complex into remembering its fundamental harmonious tuning and to bring it back to emitting its unique song, as it is still believed that each individual is a unit of sound.
In this branch of Holistic Healing every detail of the person is very important in determining their imbalance. Their tone of voice, posture, mannerisms, attentiveness, awareness, emotional state, history of traumas, encounters with other dimensions, etc. no detail is insignificant to understanding the cause of the problem. Experienced Holistic Healers of this South American heritage do not always need to ask questions, they have developed the capacity to listen to the soul of the individual who has come to seek their council, and can ‘See’ beyond words the root cause of the individual’s imbalance. They have also developed the ability to travel into other dimensions, in order to retrieve the fragmented energy of people under their care, and may use herbs as the glue that holds the energy in place until it is fully integrated within the person’s system. Holistic Healers have a penetrating soul piercing, fixed look, and those who have come to them feel naked before their eyes.
In traditional societies in the past these Holistic Healers were consulted in every important decision of the community. They could always be counted on to have an objective perspective and ‘See’ the long term implications of certain actions. Due to this, they lived away from the everyday dramas of the community and were usually solitary in nature.
Here at The Wood Fairy – La Fée des Bois, we offer Holistic Healing consultations.
